Famous Heart Surgeon in Turkey

Turkey Heart and Health Foundation President Prof. Dr. Öztekin Oto said in a written statement that approximately 1500 cardiologists and cardiovascular surgeons will attend the congress and 100 famous doctors from abroad will participate.

Stating that a live broadcast will be made from the operating theatre of a hospital in the Netherlands to the congress hall during the congress, Prof. Dr. Oto said that the live broadcast will show how to treat heart rhythm disorders (disorders that cause heart palpitations) with surgery performed through three holes without opening the chest. Stating that the participants of the congress will be able to ask questions to the specialists performing the surgery in the Netherlands during the live broadcast, Prof Oto said that the surgeon who will perform the surgery will come to Antalya the same night and give a conference.

Prof. Dr. Oto also mentioned that in a live broadcast from an operating theatre in Germany, the opening of vascular occlusions by entering through the vein with a catheter without surgery will be demonstrated, and pointed out that the closure of holes in the heart with a catheter without surgery and how the blockages in the coronary vessels can be opened with the latest stent methods without surgery will be shown to the experts watching the congress with a live broadcast from the angio room.

Emphasising that a live broadcast will be made from the operating theatre on how the heart valve replacement surgery is performed through a small hole of 5 centimetres, Oto gave the following information:

"The most remarkable feature of our congress is the presence of approximately 100 famous cardiologists and cardiovascular surgeons from abroad as speakers. In addition, we will have techno courses where extremely interesting participants will learn by practising in person. In these courses, which will be held on sheep hearts, models or patient heart specimens, the participants will learn by doing with their own hands. The course to be held in Switzerland by the European Society of Cardiology on heart diseases in adults has also been moved to Turkey with our efforts. This course will be held within the scope of the congress."

According to the information provided by Prof. Dr. Oto, some of the topics to be discussed at the congress are as follows
Artificial heart, paediatric cardiovascular diseases, new methods in heart transplantation, current treatment options in heart failure, heart valve replacement through a small hole, the debate on bypass or stent in coronary artery disease, innovations in coronary bypass, innovations in the treatment of vascular diseases, non-surgical treatment of vascular occlusions.
The congress will continue until 28 September.
